Accessibility Statement

The Gracewell Foster Trust is committed to making this website as accessible as possible — particularly given that many of our visitors are older, may read from assistive devices, or may use screen magnification. We want everyone to be able to read about our almshouses and contact the trustees easily.
Standards we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In practical terms that means:
- the site works across phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers;
- colour contrast between text and background meets recommended ratios;
- text can be resized in the browser without breaking the layout;
- the site can be navigated using only a keyboard, with visible focus styles;
- images that carry meaning are given alternative text, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers;
- headings are used in a logical order so that screen readers can announce page structure clearly.
Known limitations
This is a small, volunteer–run website. Something may not work perfectly for you; if so, please tell us and we will do our best to put it right.
How to report a problem
Please email info@gracewell.org.uk describing the issue and, if you can, the page where you found it and the device or assistive technology you are using. We will reply as quickly as we can.
